Summer 2008

There hasn't been much to put on this page since leaving San Diego a year ago.  But a few months back I began getting together with two other Bishop musicians, Charlie Broten and Greg Smith, and we have come to consider ourselves a new group, name forthcoming.  Since we are just getting started and have so few gigs I feel obliged to disclose them even if the public is not invited.

Wednesday, July 16th, Private Party at Poconobe Lodge 6:00 - 10:00 PM

This is the perfect venue for intimate listening.  The food and the setting are always sensational - the lodge is on Lake Mary in Mammoth and the view leaves nothing to be desired.  I've played there many times with Fiddlin' Pete, who has monthly  concerts there during the summer.  We have a strong set prepared and we anticipate a great evening.  We've invited the moon to sit in, and expect it's appearance somewhere in the middle of our performance.

Check out http://www.fiddlinpete.com  for Pete's schedule.  He's a great musician and he never disappoints.

And that's it for July.  We have another private party / wedding reception on Saturday, August 2nd, at Mono Lake.  But we do have a distinguished public venue coming up . . the Millpond Folk Festival.  We will play a Sunday set on the main stage on September 14th.  Please check out http://www.inyoarts.org  for festival lowdown.  I will have more to say here as the event approaches.

Thanks for stopping by,

Dan
